About The Position
REQUIRED: 2+ years related experienceGeneral Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.) BLSCerts/ARRT & other specialty certification requirements ARRT(N), CNMTEducation Associates DegreeSalary Information $30.66 (min), $38.33 (mid)Relocation $2,000 on 1st paycheck (1 year commitment); $5,000 on 1st paycheck (2 year commitment)The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performsexaminations, on pre-mature neo-natal, neo-natal, infant,pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients;administers radioactive material to patients for diagnosticexams and therapies; utilizes effective radiation safetypractices; maintains record keeping in accordance withgoverning agencies; works closely with other staff tomaximize efficiency and productivity.Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patientsto detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment,under direction of provider; explains the procedures tothe patient, answers the patient’s questions, and obtainsthe patient’s consent; injects (doses) patients withradioactive material.Places radiopharmaceutical orders after reviewingprovider’s orders; obtains and documents pertinent topatient history; calculates, measures and recordsradiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received.Determines the correct procedure for the study ordered;maintains the required records for dosing, decaying anddisposing of radioactive material.Performs required quality control on all cameras and dosemeasuring equipment.
