Physical Therapist Assistant Inpatient Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: Treatsneuromusculoskeletal & cardiorespiratory systems by physical ormechanical means to maintain or restore function that has beenimpaired by injury or disease, for pain management and forpromotion of mobility and health as prescribed by the referringphysician under the direction of a physical therapist. Isresponsible for following the plan of care for the patient.Performs and administers physical therapy modalities as deemednecessary by the physical therapist & collaborates throughoutthe process with the patient, their family and theinterdisciplinary team.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Associate'sDegree from Physical Therapist Assistant Program
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES:Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistantlicensure & BLS certification required.
SKILLS: Demonstratesaccountability and skills in continued assessment, decision makingand time management. Should have strong interpersonal, verbal andwritten communication, and organizational skills.
EXPERIENCE: Nonerequired.

Works in a clean, well lighted,ventilated smoke-free environment. Potential exposure tocommunicable diseases, combative patients and hazardous chemicals.Subject to stressful professional relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Goodphysical condition. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standingand walking. Lifts, positions, and transfers patients andmanipulates occupied equipment. Lists supplies or equipment up to50 lbs. Potential strains resulting from lifting heavy patients andequipment.
