The Systems Librarian is responsible for developing and maintaining the servers and systems necessary to support the Chester Fritz Library mission. This includes:
- Collaborating with the Online Dakota Information Network to manage CFL’s library services platform
- Maintaining CFL’s EZ Proxy server.
- Provisioning & maintaining a LAMP environment for hosted web applications, in coordination with the Web Services Librarian.
- Administer, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain the library’s services platform (ALMA), in cooperation with other UND and Library departments.
- Administer and support the library server systems and specialty databases, including EZ Proxy.
- Install, configure, and maintain library-specific computing hardware and associated software.
- Participate in professional activities, grant writing activities, special projects, and other duties as assigned.

- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
- Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited library school or a graduate degree in computer science or information systems.
- Experience with supporting and developing one or more ILS and discovery systems
- Hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with library data formats and standards such as MARC, RDA, Dublin Core, METS, MODS, and others
- Experience with one or more programming languages (such as PHP, Ruby, Python, Perl, Java, etc)
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications- Experience with usability, accessibility and user centered design best practices
- Relevant academic or research library experience
- Experience with Ex Libris’ Alma and Primo is highly desirable
- Experience with managing off-campus access to library resources using EZ Proxy, OpenURL and link resolvers
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Experience with XML, XSLT, or JSON
- Experience with archival management systems
- Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN
- Experience with Web Services such as using REST, SOAP and other APIs to integrate systems
