Job Summary: Manages, supervises, and coordinates the operations of ER department by performing the needed duties. Selects, schedules, assigns staff, adjusting hours and shifts as necessary. Performs staff nurse duties 50% of assigned work week. Serves as the Trauma Coordinator, insuring compliance with requirements. Orients new staff and coordinates activities to ensure patient care, staff relations, and efficiency of service connected to Simply the Best Standards.

Job Qualifications: Must be an RN with the state of Kansas. BSN preferred. Must have CPR and ACLS certifications also. RN experience with good technical skills. Successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills. Requires basic computer literacy within a Windows environment, including word processing functions, use of the internet, and computer-based education. Keyboarding ability required. Experience using CPSI documentation software will be an asset, to include nursing assessments, electronic MAR with bedside barcode scanning, and Computerized Physician Order Entry. For applicants seeking employment in the ER, experience with EPOWERdoc software will be a plus, to include electronic triage, medication administration, and nursing documentation. Successful candidates should be ready to use information technology in a meaningful way, in order to improve patient outcomes and ensure patient safety.
