Being a Doctor on board one of our Cunard or P&O Cruises ships means far more than treating sea sickness and sunburn. We believe that holidays are one of life's great pleasures, and when someone feels unwell, we do everything we can to get them feeling fit, happy and reassured as quickly as possible so they have unforgettable holiday happiness whilst with us.
Our ships are similar to a small town or city, so working as a Doctor on one of our cruise ships is a one-of-a-kind experience. Our doctors are required to use their A&E or Critical Care experience to look after patients with all types of ailments, sicknesses, and health problems from sun burn, broken bones, and family planning, to cardiac arrests.
This means that our Doctors need to be ready for anything Using our fully-equipped medical centre, you are there to ensure critical emergencies are dealt with promptly and swiftly, combining the challenges of remote medicine with a varied caseload and real autonomy. Every day is different and every cruise offers a new experience.
To join us as a Ship Doctor, you must be four years post qualified with current registration in one of the following countries:
UKAustraliaEuropean Union CountriesHong KongNew ZealandSingaporeSouth AfricaUnited States of AmericaCanadaDue to the nature of remote working, we ask that you have a minimum of six months recent experience within A&E or within a Critical Care Environment. We ask that our Doctors are competent experience in airway management (intubation and conscious sedation), management of common cardiac cases and the ability to lead a cardiac arrest team and are able to reduce common fractures / dislocations. We welcome applications from Doctors in the UK and internationally, for GMC registered doctors, we will ensure you maintain your UK registration while working across the globe.
