Job Description:

Soliant Education is currently seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for a full-time, onsite position in the Hanover Park, IL area. This role will focus on serving an elementary school caseload and is available for the 2024-2025 school year, with interviews happening ASAP.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various subjects, adapting materials and methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations and modifications.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to promote success.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment that fosters students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois Special Education teaching certification.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
