Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in the Middlesex, NJ area for the 2024/2025 school year. This is a part-time, on-site position requiring 1-2 hours per week, serving students across K-12 grade levels. Immediate interviews are available.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and materials to support students' communication and learning.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, making necessary adjustments to instruction and interventions.
  • Foster a positive and supportive relationship with students to promote their academic and social development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.
  • Proficiency in sign language (ASL or other) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
