Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Sidney, Ohio

Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary: The Sidney School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our educational team. The SLP will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders. This position is essential in supporting students to develop their communication abilities and succeed academically.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation findings.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students individually and in groups.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication development.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of student assessments, therapy sessions, and progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the formulation of students' goals and objectives.
  • Provide training and support to teachers and staff on speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Ohio state license in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting.
  • Compliance with state and federal regulations for special education.
