Job Description: School Psychologist

Location: Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee

Position Summary: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced School Psychologist to join our educational team in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to support the academic, emotional, and social well-being of students. The School Psychologist will work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to promote a supportive and effective learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough psychological assessments and evaluations to identify student needs and recommend suitable interventions.
  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address academic, behavioral, and emotional issues.
  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review assessment data and develop intervention strategies.
  • Offer consultation and training to teachers, parents, and school staff on mental health, learning, and behavior management.
  • Design and deliver professional development workshops on topics such as mental health awareness, effective interventions, and classroom management.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of all services provided.
  • Keep current with the latest research, best practices, and developments in the field of school psychology.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Specialist degree in School Psychology or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Tennessee Professional School Service Personnel License with a School Psychology endorsement.
  • National Certification as a School Psychologist (NCSP) is preferred.
  • Experience working as a School Psychologist in a K-12 educational setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Licensure and Certification Requirements:

  • Valid Tennessee Professional School Service Personnel License with a School Psychology endorsement.
  • Completion of an accredited graduate program in School Psychology.
  • Successful completion of a supervised internship in School Psychology.
  • Passing scores on the Praxis School Psychologist exam (Test Code: 5402) or other state-approved examinations.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to the ethical standards set by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP).
