**Job Title:** Respiratory Therapist**Job Specialty:** Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)**Job Duration:** 13 weeks**Shift:** 24-hour shift, two shifts per week, with rotating weekends**Guaranteed Hours:** 48 hours per week**Experience:** Minimum 1 year of RRT acute care experience**License:** Must be eligible for state licensure in Vermont**Certifications:** - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA)- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)**Must-Have:**- Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Care- Comfort with working independently as the only Respiratory Therapist on duty- Proficiency in caring for patients on a ventilator to maintain a stable airway- Ability to perform arterial blood gas draws- Experience with or willingness to obtain necessary certifications if not already held**Job Description:**- Assess the respiratory status of individuals across all ages- Provide emergency response and manage mechanical ventilation- Perform both invasive and noninvasive respiratory procedures- Conduct equipment maintenance and troubleshooting- Manage the arterial blood gas system- Facilitate patient transport- Follow Respiratory Care Clinical Practice Guidelines - Care for patients from diverse units, including ER, Birthing Center, Surgical Unit, and PCU (high acuity)- Treat patients with conditions such as RSV, asthma, sleep apnea, and COPD- Perform oxygen checks and nebulizer treatments- Handle rapid responses and medical emergencies**Additional Requirements:**- Skills checklist specific to the discipline completed within the last year- Two supervisory references from the last two years of employment- Comfortable with rotating weekends and potential on-call duties during overnight hours, with sleep room provided if necessary- COVID vaccination is not required but should be noted if vaccinated
