Amentum, a global leader in critical mission support, engineering, technology, and national security solutions, is seeking an Appliance Technician position at Fort Carson, Colorado. The hourly pay will be $27.99, plus an additional $7.87-$10.34 towards Health and Welfare benefits.
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
This position performs general maintenance and repairs to appliances, including but not limited to commercial and residential: clothes washers and dryers, refrigerators, stoves, ice machines, commercial garbage disposals, commercial dish washers and tray conveyors, flat top grills and stove tops etc. The position requires practical skill and knowledge including disassembling, diagnosing, and testing electrical circuits or components for proper functioning, repairing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts, and reassembly and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal performance. Position requires obtaining quotes for materials/parts and following up with vendors and contractors.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Practical skill and knowledge including disassembling, diagnosing, and testing electrical circuits or components for proper functioning. Repairing worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts. Reassembling and adjusting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Must have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or formal vocational/technical training in electrical and/or utility trades; each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
- Note: for positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record as defined by Company policy.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance if needed.
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder.
- Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio, telephone.
- Must be able to write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means.
- Must have normal vision range with or without correction to read a computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans.
- Must be able to hear in the normal range with or without correction.
WORK ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL, AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Work may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low or loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances.
