The Position on our Team:

Under the direction of the VP of Leasing, the Leasing Manager will be responsible for delivering the Specialty Leasing budget in their assigned center(s) through the negotiation and execution of short-term cart, kiosk, and short-term store leases. This position requires a strong understanding of sales, demographics, retail trends, and merchandising in order to identify and negotiate leases that are sustainable and compliment the long-term leasing strategy. In addition the role will include assisting the VP of Leasing on local and regional perm renewals and new deals as requested. In all efforts, the Leasing Manager will embrace and demonstrate Macerich Core Values and partner with the property team to increase the bottom-line profitability of the shopping center.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Negotiate Letters of Intent on an on-going basis and receives appropriate approvals; obtains all pertinent information and documentation for lease request.
  • Monitor of lease expirations, sales termination rights and lease options for their center/accounts.
  • Merchandises the assigned shopping center(s).
  • Analyzes tenant sales reporting.
  • Handles cold calls from perspective long-term tenants.
  • Attends leasing and mall management meetings.
  • Communicates internally with the leasing team on the status of what is happening in their center.
  • Conduct market tours.
  • Ability to discuss the portfolio and have market awareness.
  • Works in Yardi to prepare Letters of Intent, input budgetary information and submits deals for lease.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to Macerich:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • 3-5 years in retail, marketing and/or shopping center experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of marketing and merchandising techniques.
  • Understanding of both the business and legal terminology used.
  • Strong interpersonal and sales skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, as needed.
