Production Planning Scheduler
Location: Greater Irvine, CA-Area
Salary: $100K-115K/Year 

Summary

Vaco is leading a confidential search for a seasoned Production Planning Specialist on behalf of a key client in the manufacturing sector. This role is integral to optimizing production operations by meticulously coordinating the flow of materials and resources throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will ensure that production schedules align with both financial targets and customer expectations.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of active sales orders to determine production requirements and align resources accordingly.
  • Facilitate the prompt delivery of materials to the production floor by collaborating closely with procurement and supply chain teams.
  • Leverage ERP systems to efficiently generate, track, and manage production orders, maintaining high standards of data accuracy.
  • Work closely with warehouse and purchasing teams to mitigate material shortages and ensure uninterrupted production flow.
  • Communicate proactively with sales and operations teams about any potential schedule changes that may affect customer commitments.
  • Oversee the acceleration of production processes as needed to ensure adherence to delivery timelines and customer satisfaction.
  • Compile and present detailed reports on production progress, inventory levels, and customer order status.
  • Apply sound judgment and decision-making skills to navigate challenges and maintain production efficiency.
  • Support additional duties as needed to contribute to the overall success of the production operations.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of production processes, quality control, and supply chain logistics within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems, with an emphasis on maintaining data integrity and process efficiency.
  • Minimum educational requirement of a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in production planning or a related discipline, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal, with Spanish language skills considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in applying mathematical methods to optimize production.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or related APICS credentials.
  • Training in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is highly desirable.
