Position Title: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Silver Spring, Maryland

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team and make a significant difference in the lives of our students.

Job Summary: The Speech-Language Pathologist will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. The SLP will work closely with educators, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to each student's specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs based on assessment findings.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students' communication needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and offer valuable insights on student progress and goals.
  • Educate and train teachers and parents on techniques to support speech and language development.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in Maryland.
  • Maryland State Department of Education certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
