Job Summary:

  • Expert in configuring and supporting RHEL servers within AWS EC2 environments.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (systems, software, specialty engineers) to develop integrated cloud solutions.
  • Ensure mission-critical infrastructure's performance, availability, and security.
  • Maintain, configure, and ensure the reliability of cloud-based computer systems, especially multi-user systems.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Configure and provide operational support for RHEL servers in AWS EC2.
  • Install and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers in virtualized environments.
  • Set up and manage Linux/Windows systems, ensuring compliance with government security standards.
  • Troubleshoot network, hardware, software, OS upgrades, and security systems.
  • Maintain customer-focused communication with supervisors, project managers, and customers.
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • RHCSA or RHCE strongly preferred.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) required. (TS only does not meet the requirement).
 
  • Required Expertise:
    • Red Hat/Linux (RHEL 7/8/9), provisioning, patching, hardening.
    • VMware admin experience, including vCenter.
    • Linux automation tools (Chef, Ansible).
    • AWS experience, specifically EC2 and S3.
    • Docker, Kubernetes, containerization, and virtualization expertise.
    • Experience deploying servers on AWS and working with AMI.
 
  • Preferred Skills:
    • SELinux, infrastructure components (Symantec Endpoint Protection, WSUS, RHEL Satellite).
    • VMware Certified Professional (VCP6-DCV).
    • RHCSA or RHCE certification.
    • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Ruby, bash).
    • Experience troubleshooting complex systems (servers, COTS products, NetApp, VMs, VDIs).
    • Network engineering technologies and administration.
    • Knowledge of firewalls (Cisco ASA) and creating ACLs.
    • Familiarity with scanning software (Tanium), STIGs, compliance, and multi-tenant cloud platforms.
 
  • Additional Experience:
    • System-of-systems development, integration, and high-level needs analysis.
    • Cameo and Guacamole experience desired.
