Are you passionate about food and looking to embark on your culinary journey? The Newt in Somerset Chef Academy could be the place for you We are thrilled to offer an exceptional opportunity for aspiring chefs to kickstart their culinary careers through our Apprentice Chef position.

What is 'The Chef Academy'?

The Chef Academy is an immersive 60-week initiative tailored to cultivate the talents of aspiring chefs. Through a comprehensive curriculum, our chefs will engage in real-world culinary challenges, working and learning in our three restaurants, with their knowledge being supplemented by involvement in our production areas. Our chefs will also be working towards their Level 2 Commis Chef apprenticeship in collaboration with HIT Training.

  • Enthusiasm for the culinary arts and a genuine passion for cooking.
  • A thirst for learning and progression
  • No prior professional kitchen experience required; we welcome beginners with a strong desire to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a willingness to take direction.
  • Creativity and an eagerness to contribute ideas to our culinary offerings.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as needed.
