Utilize a resource nurse to assist with nursing care and procedures # beds/procedures: 32 Patient ratio: 2:1 Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? yes Top diagnosis/procedures: neuro/neurosurgical patients, renal with CRRT, cardiac (at times with balloon pumps), resp/vents, drips Common equipment used: zoll, nihon Khoden bedside monitors, CRRT prismax Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? yes Common medications given: neosynephrine, Levophed, Cardene, Cardizem, 3% saline, (all pressors) EPIC Charting Scrub Color (are they provided): not provided, galaxy blue Skills Required: • IV insertion • Blood draws • PICC/Central Line management: • Dialysis Fistula: maintance • A-line management • CVP • Obtain 12 lead EKG • Procedural sedation • CPAP/BiPAP • Ventilators • Nitric Oxide • Trach Care • EVD management • ICP monitoring • Periotoneal dialysis • Epidural/PCA pump • Feeding tubes • Continuous bladder irrigation • Wound vac "
