**Job Description:**
As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. You will work collaboratively with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Your role will be critical in fostering a positive, inclusive, and productive learning environment that encourages student success and growth.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide direct instruction and support to students in various settings (e.g., inclusive classrooms, resource rooms).
- Adapt and modify curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the success of all students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and IEP compliance.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development sessions.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelors degree in Special Education or related field (Masters preferred).
- Valid California teaching credential in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with a variety of disabilities.
- Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
