- 62-bedInpatient PsychiatricCenter
- Adult Psych Unit(ages 18- 64)
- GeriatricPsych Unit (ages 65 and older.) (Patients in this unit requiresassistance with all aspects of daily living -TotalCare)
- Intensive OutpatientProgram
- ECT (ElectroconvulsiveTherapy)
- New Graduate Program for RNspassionate about BehavioralHealth
JOBPURPOSE:
Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing carefor patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well asoperational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care asneeded when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmentalissues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves asresource for guidance and assistance to thestaff.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Coordinates delivery of quality nursing care to includefacilitating patient flow in coordination with Bed Control, PatientAccess, or Administrative Supervisor to include triage, admissions,discharges, and transfers.
2. Monitors patient caredelivery, to include appropriate implementation of protocol,administration of medications, and treatmentmodalities.
3. Communicates patient flow/patient careissues to appropriate physician and/or clinicalmanager.
4. Coordinates issues of diversion, asappropriate.
5. Coordinates equitable distribution ofstaff assignments based on skill mix, staffing levels, patientdiagnosis, volume, and acuity. Adjusts assignments as needed duringthe shift.
6. Fairly and equitably administersdepartmental and hospital policies.
7. Assists theclinical manager, as necessary, to ensure appropriate staffinglevels and most efficient use of staffing plan.
8.Monitors census and appropriately anticipates the need to assumeclinical role as needed.
9. Maintains a high level ofclinical competency in administering nursing care to includeaccurate determination of patients acuity and Implementsappropriate medical response to include use ofprotocols/policies/pathways.
10. Promptly reports issuesthat cannot be resolved during the shift to clinical manager, withsuggestions for resolution.
11. Ensures that system issuesinvolving other departments, that can cause decreased quality ofcare or productivity, are reported to the clinicalmanager.
12. Promotes customer satisfaction by respondingto service issues in a timely and effective manner.
13.Serves as a resource and a role model for the nursing and ancillarystaff on the assigned unit.

Qualifications:
MINIMUMEDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursingprogram.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One (1)year of nursing experience in a hospital settingrequired.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BYLAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as aRegistered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLScertification required.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:
Two (2) or more years of nursingexperience in a hospital setting preferred.
Bachelorsdegree preferred.
Advanced certification in field ofspecialty, if applicable (see addendum).
Demonstratedclinical competency.
