The Department is looking for a quantitative or mixed-methods scholar with a primary interest in immigration and a secondary interest in gender, stratification, the practice of social work, or the dynamics of non-profit/non-governmental organizations. The candidate should be prepared to teach courses in their subject area, as well as contribute to the core curriculum, teaching both statistics and social research methods in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The Department of Sociology consists of nine full-time faculty teaching in both undergraduate and a graduate program in sociology. The department is an integral unit in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and has collaborative ties with other units in the college and the university, including the Center for Community Health Equity, the Honors Program, the Liberal Studies Program, and the Steans Center for Community-Based Service Learning.
