Our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) program is designed to provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities as well as gifted students, helping them to reach their full potential in the school setting. Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Instructional Teacher for our Exceptional Student Education (ESE) classrooms. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies that cater to the unique needs of students with disabilities and gifted students. This role involves collaboration with other educators, parents, and specialists to ensure that each student receives the appropriate support and resources to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to the individual needs of students with disabilities and gifted students.

  • Design and deliver engaging instructional activities that align with students' strengths, interests, and learning goals.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods and strategies as needed.

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and specialists to integrate special education services into the broader curriculum.

  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and to involve them in the educational process.

  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic growth of all students.

  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Special Education or a related field.

  • Current Florida Teaching Certification

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and/or gifted students is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching students with diverse learning needs.
