Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist
Location: Atwater, California
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Atwater, California. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students, helping them overcome communication barriers and achieve academic success. The Speech-Language Pathologist will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support students' speech and language development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' specific needs.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve speech, language, and communication skills.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' educational goals.
- Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and contribute to the development of students' educational plans.
- Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide training and support to teachers and parents on strategies to enhance communication skills.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of services provided.
- Stay current with best practices and developments in speech-language pathology.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License issued by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- California Credential authorizing service as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a public school setting.
- Experience working with children in a K-12 educational setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools, intervention strategies, and special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse groups of people.
Licensure and Certification Requirements:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- California Credential authorizing service in public schools, such as the Speech-Language Pathology Services Credential.
- Ongoing professional development and adherence to the ethical standards set by ASHA and the California Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensers Board.
