About The Position
**Job Title:** Neurophysiology Technologist I **Job Specialty:** Neurophysiology **Job Duration:** 13 weeks **Shift:** 12 Hours, 3x12 Hr **Guaranteed Hours:** 36.00 **Experience:** 1 or more years in Neurophysiology, Neurodiagnostics, Nursing, direct patient care, or a related health field is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered. **License:** Not required, but registration or certification as a Neurodiagnostics Technologist is strongly preferred. **Certifications:** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire. **Must-Have:** - Ability to provide outstanding patient care - Basic knowledge of computers - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and physicians **Job Description:** - Assist in performing a variety of neurophysiology procedures that help diagnose and treat nerve and brain disorders under direct supervision. - Record and identify various neurophysiology data in various settings. - Obtain patient history and attach patient electrodes. - Operate neurophysiology equipment and observe studies after a supervised orientation. - Analyze wave graphs and document any disorders or artifacts, making necessary adjustments to settings. - Care for patients of all age groups, preparing them for neurophysiology studies and completing post-study paperwork to maintain patient files. - Adhere to guidelines and use judgment during patient care, attending and participating in educational, departmental, and required meetings. - Observe neurophysiology data and acquire new skills under the guidance of physicians, nurse practitioners, managers, and technologists. - Participate in maintaining equipment and report any needed repairs. - Maintain a clean environment, including equipment and workspaces. - Perform other duties as assigned.
