Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Ottawa Hills, OH area. This full-time, on-site position offers the rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students in grades 6th through 12th with diverse learning needs.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and related service providers to create a comprehensive and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and IEP goals, focusing on the specific needs of students in grades 6-12.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and differentiated learning techniques to meet the individual needs of each student.
  • Provide social-emotional learning support to promote students' overall well-being as they navigate middle and high school.
  • Monitor student progress, collect data, and report on student achievement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications (Depending on specific caseload):

  • Ohio State Special Education Teaching License with a Middle Grades (4-9) or Secondary Education (7-12) endorsement, aligned with your preferred grade level(s).
  • Experience working with students with special needs in a middle or high school setting, preferably matching your preferred grade level(s).
  • Strong knowledge of special education curriculum, assessment practices, and instructional methodologies tailored to students with learning disabilities in your preferred grade level(s).
  • Ability to differentiate instruction, create a positive and inclusive learning environment, and effectively manage a classroom environment conducive to middle or high school learning (depending on your preference).
  • Understanding of the unique social and emotional needs of middle and high school students.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for helping students with special needs reach their full potential.
