Social Worker Job Details Job Title: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) – Behavioral Health Unit Location: Michigan City, Indiana 46360 Healthcare Setting: Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) Unit Size: 14 beds Patient Ratio: 1:10 (adult psychiatric patients) Schedule: Monday–Friday, flexible start times (7, 8, or 9 a.m.) Shifts per Week: 5 shifts per week Shift Length: 8-hour days Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,708 - $1,898 Employment Type: Travel Social Worker Contract (13 weeks) On-Site Position Parking: On-site parking garage Social Worker Qualifications Master's degree in Social Work (LMSW required) Active Indiana Social Work license BLS certification Minimum 3 years of experience in inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric social work Expertise in discharge planning, patient/family communication, and therapeutic group facilitation De-escalation training (CPI or equivalent; can be completed on-site) Strong documentation skills; Epic EMR experience preferred Professional, compassionate, and collaborative approach to clinical support Business casual attire required (no open-toe shoes or inappropriate casual clothes) Social Worker Responsibilities Deliver social work services to adult psychiatric patients with acute depression, psychosis, or mania Lead and facilitate therapeutic groups, fostering a positive therapeutic environment Coordinate and implement discharge planning with the interdisciplinary healthcare team Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic EMR Participate in de-escalation and crisis intervention as needed Uphold ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality Join our healthcare team in Michigan City, Indiana, and enjoy lakeside living, a vibrant downtown, and access to parks and cultural attractions.
