Shift is 6:45p-7:15a, every other weekend required. Candidate is required to float within the Norton system within their scope of practice if needed. You have the opportunity to join a neuro class taught by surgeons to prepare you to sit for the Neuro Certification exam. # beds/procedures: 4G- 9 beds, 4H- 9 beds, 4K- 16 beds = total of 34 beds Patient ratio: 4-5 patients Does RN need to know how to read tele strips? No, centrally monitored Top diagnosis/procedures: Care of patients who have had spinal surgery or those with a Neurological diagnosis with the exception of stroke. Common equipment used: Hemovac drains, JP drains, Lumbar drains, SCDs, IV pumps, wound vacs Does RN need to be able to titrate medication? No Common medications given: pain medications, antibiotics, muscle relaxers, patients home medications EPIC Charting Scrub Color (are they provided): Galaxy Blue, not provided Required Skills • IV insertion • Blood draws • PICC/Central Line management: • Dialysis Fistula: • Obtain 12 lead EKG • CPAP/BiPAP • Trach Care • Traction • Epidural/PCA pump • Feeding tubes • Continuous bladder irrigation • Wound vac "
