Special Education Teacher for CrossCat Program in Carmel, IN

Position: Special Education Teacher (CrossCat Program)

Location: Carmel, IN area

School Year: 2024/2025

Class Details:

  • Setting: District Self-Contained Classroom
  • Grade Levels: K-4 (Elementary)
  • Class Size: 9 students with mild to moderate cognitive impairments and some with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Curriculum: Combination of on-grade level and below-grade level to meet individual needs

Job Description: Soliant is partnering with a school district in the Carmel, IN area to hire a dedicated and experienced Special Education Teacher for a CrossCat program serving elementary students with mild cognitive delays and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for the upcoming 2024/2025 school year.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students with mild to moderate cognitive impairments and ASD.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students, incorporating both on-grade level and below-grade level content.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and other staff to ensure student success.
  • Monitor and report on student progress.
  • Foster a safe and supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with cognitive impairments and ASD.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
