Job Title: School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Location: Tacoma, WA and surrounding areas

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and dedicated School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team in the Tacoma, WA area. As an SLP, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' communication and language development in an educational setting. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, providing therapy services, and collaborating with teachers and families to promote student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' communication disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, targeting areas such as articulation, phonology, fluency, expressive/receptive language, and social/pragmatic skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students' communication needs in the classroom.
  • Monitor students' progress, adjust therapy plans as necessary, and provide ongoing evaluation and documentation of their development.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input and expertise regarding students' speech and language goals and objectives.
  • Stay current with research, best practices, and trends in the field of speech-language pathology through professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
  • Valid Washington state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of speech and language disorders, assessment tools, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
