Controller
CPA Required | Healthcare Experience | Hybrid
We are partnering with a clinical research organization looking for a Controller to oversee all financial aspects of the organization. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all financial activities, as well as timely and precise financial reporting. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in driving financial excellence and maintaining standards across our accounting functions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring liquidity. Oversee treasury functions such as bank relationships, investment management, and financing arrangements.
  • Prepare, review, and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Analyze financial performance to identify trends and provide actionable insights, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Lead the budgeting process, including the preparation, review, and presentation of annual budgets. Develop financial forecasts and models to support strategic planning and decision-making. Monitor budget performance, providing recommendations for cost control and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS). Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Coordinate and manage internal and external audits to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Supervise and mentor finance team members, providing guidance and support for their professional development. Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategic financial plans and initiatives. Provide financial insights and support for business development, project management, and operational decisions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA is required.
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in the clinical research industry or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g., ERP systems, MS Excel).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a finance team.
