Calling on Florida-licensed Speech-Language Pathologists (or Clinical Fellows embarking on their speech career) Soliant is working with a school district near Jacksonville, FL, and is seeking applicants for a full-time contract position for this school year.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communications Disorders
  • Florida SLP license

Description of duties:

  • Screens new students to the school division for speech or language disorders
  • Observe classrooms, as requested, to provide suggestions for addressing speech or language disorders
  • Evaluate students referred with speech or language concerns to determine area of involvement and degree of severity
  • Determine student eligibility for speech services, in accordance with District timelines and administrative requirements
  • Develop an appropriate Individualized Education Program for each student, and implement it according to State regulations
  • Provide speech and language therapy according to the needs of the students, and State guidelines
  • Develop home-based activities and consult with parents
  • Consult with teachers
  • Works as part of an interdisciplinary team with students who have multiple disabilities
  • Report monthly on the number of students and their service status
  • Provide information to the Office of Special Education, as requested
  • Adhere to state, federal, and local laws and regulations governing the education of students with disabilities

  • Conduct themselves in a professional manner, in accordance with ethics guidelines for Speech-Language Pathologists and school staff
  • Adopt evidenced based practices in their clinical practice
  • Are knowledgeable of Special Education procedures and the diagnosis of communications disorders
  • Communicate well with students, supervisors, parents and their co-workers
