POSITION SUMMARY: An integral member of the surgical teamwho provides support for surgeons throughout the operation bypreparing, providing and caring for instruments and equipment andmaintaining a sterile field.
Requirements
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diplomaor equivalent. Graduation from a school of Surgical Technologypreferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: BLScertification required prior to end of probationary period.Surgical Tech certification required.
SKILLS:Knowledge of care and handling of instruments and equipment.Knowledge of sterilization and cleansing procedures. Ability toread, write, and communicate verbally in English.
EXPERIENCE: One or more years experience in an acute carehospital setting in the operating room or an instrument careenvironment preferred.
