The Product Manager will have directresponsibility for the development and implementation of keyproduct strategies within their respective segments. This positionwill partner closely with Corporate Category Management and SalesLeadership, to fully understand competitive dynamics and ensurethose are considered within the divisional category strategies.They will be responsible for the total profitability on theproducts under management within their respective segments. Thisposition will be an ambassador to sales by being overall experts ofthe products, conducting product training, competitivedifferentiation, and will drive compliance on key Bunzl productinitiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership ofassigned product category performance and management of the overallstrategy within their respective segment ofresponsibility
  • Develop category and segmentexpertise that allows the organization to effectively competewithin the segment; this includes monitoring segment needs, trends,and competitive products to ensure the segment remains competitivewhile maximizing profitability
  • Strategicengagement with segment leadership to develop and implement keyproduct strategies in support of company objectives; this includesdriving compliance to preferred product categories such as BunzlOwn Brand and Import products
  • Participate incustomer meetings alongside sales and will serve as the productexpert in key categories of focus
  • Establishproduct ownership with internal and externalstakeholders.
  • Work with segment leadership torationalize and consolidate product lines whenappropriate
  • Support segment with sourcingrequests for products within key product categories undermanagement
  • Proactively share segmentintelligence, strategy, and tactics with market product managercounterparts
  • Continuous communication withregion, division, and corporate Category Management teams to ensurealignment to strategies and priorities

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree inBusiness or related field required.
  • Minimum of5+ years’ experience in product management, category managementand/or procurement is preferred
  • Priorexperience with Distribution industry is a plus
  • Product knowledge across multiple industries is aplus
  • Excellent relationship buildingskills
  • Strong leadership and negotiationskills
  • Exceptional oral & writtencommunication skills
  • Strong analyticalskills
  • Desire to make profound impact oncompany's growth trajectory.
  • Ability to travel(30%)
