This division is home to the following: Animation, Art, Digital Media, English, French, German, Graphic Arts, Journalism, Music, Philosophy, Spanish, Speech, and Theatre.MCC instructors are higher-education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies in instruction. They assess student learning to ensure students success, staying abreast of trends in the discipline. Our instructors collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community. *** This Adjunct Pool AY24/25 will be active until May 31, 2025.
Essential Job Functions and ResponsibilitiesIncluding but are not limited to:Teach courses as assigned by the College.Proficient teaching courses via in person, blended or online modalities.Available to teach daytime, evening, or weekend classes, as needed.Available for student conferences either before or after class, and by college email if necessaryDevelop syllabus using MCC syllabus template.Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the College in striving for educational excellence Conduct regular assessment of student learning.Maintain and submit accurate student and course-related paperwork and data needed for college purposes in a timely fashion. Document and report attendance daily and maintain and submit accurate attendance records weekly. Submit grade reports electronically by the required date. Utilize a variety of teaching styles in order to satisfy the different learning styles of students. Utilize computer-based instruction and databases when necessary.Required QualificationsCourse specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices. Divisional requirements needed. Example, Master's in the discipline or related field with 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline. Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred.Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgroundsStrong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
