This role helps to integrate health and wellness across the student experience and campus. The role is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day health care of students, employees, and their dependents. Also, this position oversees the Wildcat Health Clinic team and operations.Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Leadership:Oversee daily clinical operations and ensure delivery of evidence-based, quality healthcare servicesDevelop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirementsMonitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiativesEnsure compliance with state regulations and institutional policiesProvide clinical supervision and mentorship to healthcare providers and support staffConduct clinical assessment and care of patients- care for minor injuries and illness, provide vaccines, blood draws, referrals as needed, follow up care, dispense medications per standing orders or orders of the NP, and assist the NPStaff Management:Recruit, hire, and onboard qualified clinical staff, including nurses, student nurse employees, and support personnelConduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support professional developmentCoordinate staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage for all clinical servicesFoster a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environmentAddress personnel issues and implement corrective actions when necessaryAdministrative Oversight:Develop and manage the clinical services budget, monitoring expenses and revenueCollaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and service developmentOversees all outside vendors and contracts, such as lab services, electronic medical records, and other third-party servicesMonitors contracts to ensure quality services and cost effectivenessOversee inventory management for medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticalsWorks closely with the Medical Director on standing orders, policies, and proceduresServes on the Student Development Leadership teamQuality Assurance and Compliance:Implement and maintain quality assurance programs and infection control protocolsEnsure HIPAA compliance and maintain patient confidentiality standards and the HIPAA Privacy OfficerConduct regular audits of clinical documentation and processesInvestigate and address patient complaints or safety concernsMaintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practicesPatient Care Coordination:Oversee care coordination for complex cases and referrals to specialty servicesEnsure appropriate follow-up care and continuity of servicesDevelop protocols for emergencies and crisis interventionCoordinate with other campus departments and external healthcare partners to support students' success and employee services, including but not limited to:Collaborates with Risk Management and other entities that organize international travel to promote travel health careServe on various campus committees (Care Team and Clearance+Operational Retention Committee).Care Team supports students at risk or in crisisThe Clearance and Operational Retention Committee coordinates the onboarding of students and ongoing support for studentsCollaborates with Health Sciences to provide services needed to prepare students for clinical sites; Collaborates with Athlete Trainers to provide holistic care for athletesCollaborates with the Center for Student Success to support students with mental health concerns and ADA needsCollaborates with the School of Nursing to provide a clinical experience for student nurses completing their Public Health and/or Leadership requirementsCollaborates with Residential Life to support the health and wellness of studentsCollaborates with the local and state public health departments to provide additional services to our IWU communityCollaborates with People and Culture (HR) to provide services that support the wellness of the IWU communityQualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement.EducationMinimum of Bachelor of Science in NursingExperienceFive (5) years of experience in nursingCurrent, unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurseExperience with electronic health records and healthcare information systemsExperience with public health is helpfulExperience in leadership is helpfulRequired SkillsExperience with electronic health records and healthcare information systemsExperience with public health is helpfulIWU Kingdom Diversity StatementIWU, in covenant with God's reconciling work and in accordance with the Biblical principles of our historic Wesleyan tradition, commits to build a community that reflects Kingdom diversity.
