Inertial Systems, within the Collins Resilient Navigation Systems business unit, is seeking a highly motivated individual to be the Inertial Systems US Portfolio Value Stream Leader (VSL) as an Associate Director. The VSL will be responsible for the $90+m/ year Sales Inertial Systems US business, with specific focus on the high specification legacy product lines.

The VSL is accountable for the full lifecycle of products and services from inception through completion, inclusive of pursuit and order capture, design and development, produce to deliver, service/support, and long-term strategic business plans. It is the chair of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) accountable for managing the contract lifecycle, cost, schedule, performance and on-time delivery of company programs or subsystems of major programs. It serves as the face of the organization to clients and customers and has profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the Inertial Systems US portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self- starter with ability to multitask and work with large complex teams, with demonstrated experience working development and execution programs and driving continuous improvement and recovery plans.

What You Will Do

  • YOU WILL be responsible for the financial, schedule and technical performance of the Inertial Systems US programs and pursuits, to include capture of new business opportunities, developing product strategies, executing current contracts and follow-on phases.
  • YOU WILL lead pursuit and order capture activities, including strategy development, customer contact and influence, proposal development, and negotiation
  • YOU WILL interface with multiple customers or potential customers for various product lines and services, building relationships and supporting your program managers in winning and delivering the business
  • YOU WILL have direct reports and therefore provide leadership to the program team but also leadership to your direct reports. This includes career conversation, performance inputs and supporting overall employee needs.
  • YOU WILL be accountable for entire performance of the assigned value stream, lead decision making for the IPT and apply critical thinking where incomplete data exists.
  • YOU WILL develop internal and external networks and communicate the vision to the IPT and stakeholders within and outside of the function.
  • YOU WILL develop and execute business plans and strategies to grow the Inertial Systems business as part of an overarching business strategy, contributing to the Strategic & Financial and Annual Operating Plans on behalf of the Inertial Systems US business.
  • YOU WILL be the VSL Site Lead for the Cheshire site

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Collins Aerospace will not offer sponsorship for this position
  • Prior experience in maintaining Program Financial Controls including: Earned Value Management Systems, budgeting, scheduling, Risk and Opportunity Management, and Forecasting Sales, Profit and Cash for monthly reporting

The salary range for this role is 143,000 USD - 287,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
