Fort Meade, United States Booz Allen Hamilton Full time
Telecommunications Network Optical Engineer

The Opportunity:

A well-designed network is critical to securely move data and enable our clients to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, an experienced network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the DoD needs.

As a telecommunication network optical engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design, implementation, and sustainment to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll assist with the design of new networks, you'll analyze existing infrastructures, and you'll increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.

You’ll apply your expertise in routing and switching, network design and architecture, and network transport layers as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, telecommunications network equipment, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in optical infrastructure networking you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your experience overseeing telecommunications vendors you’ll ensure network services are successfully and securely provisioned. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

Further your career with us as we help evolve our nation's critical telecommunications network infrastructure.

Join us. The world can’t wait.

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with telecommunication systems or 12+ years of experience with telecommunications systems in lieu of a degree
