Junior Accountant

PURPOSE

The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Accounting Team with financial reporting and analysis, inventory, budgeting and forecasting, month-end close, and other financial-related objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Reporting and Analysis:
  • Create and distribute reports
  • Helps Accounting Team with financial analysis
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Helps Accounting Team with annual budgets and forecasts
  • Supports Accounting Team with monthly forecasts
  • Collaborates with various departments to meet budget goals
• Inventory:
  • Assists with physical inventories and cycle counts
  • Reconciles differences with system reports and recommend corrective action
• Month End Close:
  • Journal entries
  • Reconciliations
  • Pre-close analysis
• Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Experience in SAP or other accounting software a plus
• Strong proficiency in MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• Must demonstrate professionalism
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• BA/BS degree in accounting or finance or expectations of receiving degree within 12 months
• Must have a 3.2 GPA or above (as it relates to college students applying)
• 1-3 years of relevant experience (internships included)
