Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Half Moon Bay, California

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team for the 2024-25 school year in Half Moon Bay, California. The SLP will play a crucial role in providing speech and language therapy services to students, conducting assessments, collaborating with educators and families, and supporting the academic success of all students.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate students' speech, language, and communication abilities, and identify areas of need.
  2. Individualized Treatment Planning: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment plans based on assessment findings and student goals.
  3. Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings, using evidence-based practices and strategies.
  4. Collaboration: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other members of the educational team to support student progress and integrate therapy goals into the classroom curriculum.
  5. Progress Monitoring: Monitor and document students' progress towards IEP goals, adjusting therapy interventions as needed to maximize outcomes.
  6. Parent and Staff Education: Provide guidance and support to parents, teachers, and staff on speech and language development, communication strategies, and ways to support students' needs.
  7. Participation in Meetings: Attend IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other collaborative sessions to contribute to the development and review of students' educational plans.
  8. Compliance: Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing the provision of special education services, including documentation and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  2. Licensure: Current California license in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or eligibility for licensure in the state of California.
  3. Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred.
  4. Experience: Prior experience working with school-aged children with diverse speech and language needs preferred.
  5. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and proficiency in assessment and intervention techniques.
