As a Mechanical Engineer, your duties and job expectations may include:

  • Providing solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
  • Developing static and dynamic designs and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages
  • Designing, documenting, and modelling mechanical designs and solutions
  • Conducting feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
  • Conducting business and technical briefings for senior management and customer representatives
  • Directing support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication 
  • Providing design information to drafting for packaging documentation   
  • Conducting business and technical briefings for senior management and for external representatives
  • Collaborating in a cross-functional team to resolve technical issues
  • Potential to lead, mentor, and manage a team of Mechanical and Electrical engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and professional development

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and five (5) years or more of relevant work experience; four (4) years of experience are accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret Clearance is required to begin employment; ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance is required to maintain employment.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Experience managing engineering projects from concept through execution

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
