Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: near Tacoma, Washington

Duration:Full 23/24 School Year

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team for a school-based position near Tacoma, Washington. The candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide individual and group therapy to students with speech and language disorders.

Details:

  • Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
  • Full 23-24 School Year

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in conducting speech and language assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for improvement
  • Implement treatment plans developed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions to improve articulation, language comprehension, and communication skills
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for each student
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of therapy sessions, progress reports, and treatment plans
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and workshops to stay informed of the latest therapy techniques and best practices

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
  • Current state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Washington
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with school-aged children with speech and language disorders
  • Experience with a variety of treatment approaches and modalities, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication interventions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, teachers, and parents
  • Ability to maintain accurate and organized records, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
