Primary Location:3452 Spur 399, McKinney, Texas, 75069We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.Job Summary:The videographer/editor is responsible for the creation of videos for Collin College and all aspects of video production from pre- through post-production. Examples of required video content includes video features, departmental videos, social media videos, highlight videos and on-demand video content and animated video content.Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute conception, lighting, shooting and editing videos.
  • Production of long and short form content and image work.
  • Create products that align with the college’s visual identity, style and brand.
  • Ensure output meets the agreed-upon plan from both a creative and a strategic messaging standpoint, as well as informed by current brand guidelines.
  • Under the guidance of the director and assistant director, and in cooperation with other team members, help develop and execute ideas for new approaches, concepts and storytelling that align to strategic priorities.
  • Execute a wide range of video styles with finesse and musicality, including instructional, sizzle, documentary, motivational, and other.
  • Utilize a high level of expertise to run cameras, set up lighting, capture field audio, conduct interviews, script-write or organize written content for scripts and fill other diverse roles during a shoot.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, delivering on-target video products while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Perform well in a team environment and interact in a positive, professional manner, while maintaining an easy-to-work with attitude with team members and clients. Perform well under tight deadlines.
  • Show initiative in researching and staying ahead of current trends in the industry and employs new trends and visual styles, as appropriate.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electronic news gathering (ENG) (e.g. field video camera, lighting, and related audio)
  • Knowledge of operation of broadcast quality cameras and lenses, white balance, Iris, and focus controls
  • Knowledge of non-linear edit systems (preferably Premiere)
  • Knowledge of graphics creation software (Photoshop, After Effects) is a plus
  • Knowledge of video and film style production lighting is a plus
  • Knowledge of video animation creation
  • Proficient in editing software (Avid, FCP; preferably Premiere and AfterEffects)
  • Possess a portfolio and demo reel demonstrating strong video shooting and editing capabilities
  • Overall business acumen, with the ability to think strategically and problem-solve
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task with careful attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills coupled with a positive, energetic attitude
  • Ability to write scripts and develop editorial content for videos
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to conceptualize, produce and edit creative stories that showcase Collin College


Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions and/or hazards. Occasional outside work. Occasional physical effort required.

Requirements
An associate degree in fine arts from an accredited institution required. Bachelor's degree in fine arts from an accredited institution preferred.
One (1) year of professional experience in visual creative development for marketing/advertising/communications.

Equivalency Language
A higher-level degree than what is required for the position may be substituted for no more than one (1) year of the required work experience.
