Empower Young Minds in Math: Special Education Teacher (High School Math) - Soliant Education (Keller, TX Area)
Are you a passionate and dedicated special education teacher with a talent for making math accessible and engaging for all students?
Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Keller, TX area This full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers the rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of high school students with diverse learning needs in the subject of math.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning styles, strengths, and challenges in a high school math setting.
- Utilize a variety of engaging and differentiated instructional strategies, including assistive technology, to help students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, emotional/behavioral disabilities, and other special needs grasp mathematical concepts.
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic achievement, social-emotional development, and independence for high school students in math.
- Collaborate effectively with general education teachers, specialists, administrators, paraprofessionals, and parents to ensure a cohesive support system for each student.
- Provide ongoing assessments, monitor student progress in math, and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and adjust IEPs as needed.
- Advocate for students' rights and inclusion, fostering a positive school culture that celebrates diversity in learning styles.
- Stay up-to-date on best practices in special education and math instruction, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting students with diverse learning needs in a math context.
Qualifications:
- Texas State Teaching License with a Special Education endorsement and a Math certification (preferred).
- Prior experience working with high school students with special needs in a math setting is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and differentiated instruction in math education.
- Proven ability to develop and implement engaging and effective math lesson plans specifically tailored to the needs of high school students with special needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students of all abilities, parents, and school staff.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes respect and inclusion for all students.
- Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting on student progress in math.
