Job Summary
The Senior Manager of Intercultural Student Engagement develops a cadre of co-curricular engagement offerings in partnership with academic, workforce and student success departments to help support Dallas College commitment to create a campus culture where students feel they belong and can thrive academically. The Senior manager leads a team of seven coordinators across the seven Dallas College campuses and is responsible for their recruitment and professional development. The position reports to the Director of Intercultural and Global Student Initiatives.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of the purpose of community colleges and the vision of Dallas College
Skills in technological support and delivery of student programs and services; knowledge and skill in the use of integrated software systems; and proficiency in the use of Microsoft application software.
Experience leading or managing major change initiatives.
Employ and deploy data-informed and results-oriented initiatives.
Ability to identify and address opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of Dallas College’s current transition.
An understanding of contemporary issues in higher education is required through professional development activities.
Experience working with student support programs (counseling, threat assessment, health & wellness programs, etc.) as a CARE Team member.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information exposed to during business regarding students, supervisors, or other employees.
Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by various student populations through programming, resource management, and other professional activities.
Highly collaborative leader with experience in a comparably diverse and complex college/university with a proven track record of enhancing quality, excellence, and student success.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations regarding student discipline.
Appreciation of shared governance and evidence of a strong ability to work effectively and collaboratively with administration, faculty, students, staff, and other constituent groups and partners, both within and outside the college that are designed to meet the needs of the increasingly diverse college community.
Experience in strategic planning, assessment of program(s) effectiveness, and development of guidelines to enhance student success units within the institution and with accrediting bodies.
Excellent time management and organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively with students from the full range diverse populations.
Ability to stay informed of the rapidly evolving legal, social, and political landscape.
Knowledge and understanding of best practices for all international student issues and student development, retention, academic achievement, and emerging campus climate issues.
Experience working with students from various backgrounds including but not limited to first generation college students and a proven record of implementing high impact practices leading to student post-graduation success.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, complex ideas, and information to a variety of stakeholders/constituents within the Dallas College community network related to career and academic requirements.
Physical Requirements

Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in a related field. Official transcripts required.
Three years of demonstrated leadership and experience supervising full-time student affairs professional staff as well as graduate and/or undergraduate student staff, advising department student organizations, training staff, and crisis response.
Current and valid Texas driver’s license required.
Strong background in working with Dallas College student populations and substantive understanding as it relates to the intersections of multiple identities.
Three years professional, full-time student affairs work experience at a college or
university with proven ability to plan strategically, develop innovative service models, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and develop and fiscally manage budgets and resources.
Excellent interpersonal relations skills.

Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the recruitment, training, professional development, and management of seven full-time engagement coordinators and student workers within the Global Student Engagement Department.
Develops, implements, and conducts a comprehensive department assessment plan that includes but is not limited to evidence of student learning, student and customer satisfaction, monthly Department Dashboards, and Impact Reports.
Develops and implements a robust marketing plan that encourages and promotes campus engagement reflecting a continuous increase in student participation in departmental programs.
Serves as a member of the Student Engagement Leadership Team and contributes to the broader institutional goals of increasing participation by students in student engagement activities and high-impact experiences such as student leadership opportunities, internships, and signature events.
Recommends department's direction, goals, implementation strategy, and policies.
Oversees efforts to ensure communication with the student body is effective, resulting in an increase in participation in overall programming.
Oversees the development and implementation of a comprehensive, learning outcome based, leadership programming and develop trainings that contributes to student leadership development through various department programs.
Participates in various committees, professional trainings, industry conferences, and conventions. Some travel required.
Support the planning and execution of student engagement at each campus location to guarantee equitable student experiences.
Support of cross divisional enrollment, persistence, and retention efforts.
Supervision, training and coaching of Intercultural (Co-curricular) Student Engagement Coordinators.
Building local partnerships to enhance co-curricular engagement offerings.
Management of departmental work-study students and institutionally funded student employees
Directs and supervises the efforts of staff and sets performance standards and accountability.
The position is required to be on campus. Although the senior manager will be housed at a specific campus location, the individual will be supporting students, programs, and events across the seven Dallas College campuses when needed.
