The instructor will deliver instruction in reading, writing, social studies, science, and mathematics aligned with HSE/GED standards, while creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for justice-involved students.Required Education/Experience::Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.Strong communication and classroom management skills.Ability to adapt instruction for adult learners with diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.Commitment to the mission of correctional and adult education.Preferred Education/Experience/Skills::Teaching experience in Adult Basic Education (ABE), HSE/GED preparation, or correctional education.Experience with TABE, CASAS, or other standardized adult education assessments.Familiarity with technology-enhanced instruction and remote learning tools.Master’s degree in Education, Adult Education, or related field.Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities::This position is located inside a correctional facility, and instructors must be able to adapt to the unique requirements of teaching in a secure environment. Class Schedules, access and resources are subject to the institutional rules and procedures, which may differ significantly from traditional academic settings.
