Reading Education Adjunct Professor

Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engage in an active commitment to, and experience of, personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview. Adjuncts should view their teaching, engagement with students, and scholarship as a means to a significant educational end. They should strive to employ a variety of techniques for the development of good learning conditions, view each student as a unique individual, and insofar as it is possible, provide for individual differences, abilities, and interests.
Liberty University School of Education is seeking faculty to teach online graduate and undergraduate coursework in the area of Reading Education. If you are an experienced professional with a Doctoral degree in Reading/Literacy Education, have 3 years of experience in the K-12 setting as a Reading Specialist, hold an active state-issued Reading Specialist license, and have the desire to prepare students to serve as reading teachers in the K-12 school system - we invite you to apply. Work with us and be a part of preparing students to be Champions for Christ in the field of education. Classes are offered in an asynchronous, 8-week format.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Applicant must have an EdD or PhD in Reading/Literacy
- Degree must be from an institution accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Reading Specialist in the K-12 setting
- Superior interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills required
- Creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills required
- Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas
- Pastoral reference letter is required.
- Three professional reference letters required.
- Active, state-issued teaching license as a Reading Specialist required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates with an established record of research in reading evidenced by intellectual and professional contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching reading methods using online learning platforms (e.g., Canvas) and K-12 reading.
