Position Summary:

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks 1 BE/BC Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join 10 Faculty and 4 Advanced nurse practitioners in expanding the academic and clinical mission of the Division of Pediatrics Gastroenterology. The academic position is fixed term at the Assistant/Associate Professor level. Exceptional individuals interested in building outstanding clinical programs are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should have demonstrated excellence in academic scholarship, clinic care, and teaching. Diagnostic endoscopic skills are required.

The North Carolina Children’s Hospital yearly serves more than 70,000 children from all 100 North Carolina counties for over 200,000 visits for diagnosis and treatment. This family-focused hospital serves as the primary teaching facility for UNC Pediatric residents. The pediatric inpatient service has an 88-bed capacity and 5,900 surgical and pediatric admissions each year The pediatric Intensive Care Unit has a 20-bed capacity, and the Newborn Critical Care Center has a 58-bed capacity with approximately 850 admissions yearly.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

MD, board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Diagnostic endoscopic skills are required.

Candidate should have demonstrated excellence in academic scholarship, clinical care, and teaching.
