The Instructor Supervisor isresponsible for supervising educational staff providing educationalservices to inmates/residents in a correctional facility. They assist in maintaining student enrollment in the EducationDepartment. They will also provide for adequate staffing andteach as necessary.- Supervise education staff inthe performance of their duties and evaluates as prescribed byfacility and company policy.
- Direct staff in performing their duties consistent withpolicy and procedure to ensure a safe, secure and effectiveeducational program. Enforce standards of classroomenvironment andbehavior.
- Assist in designing, implementingand/or evaluating curriculum and programs of study that meet theneeds, interests and abilities of inmates/students for educationalprograms.
- Supervise educational programs andinteracts with inmates daily to encourage inmates/students'development plans and maintain orderlyoperations.Assist in developing staffeducational programs to ensure compliance with state, facility orpartner certification and trainingrequirements.Verify that department staffmaintain appropriate licensure, ifapplicable.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited collegeor university with a Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Three years of experience in afull-time professional education position is required.
- One year of educationadministration or supervisory work experience preferred.
- A teaching licensure is preferred.
- Must possess or be eligible forcertification, license or other credentials if required by contractand/or state of employment.
- Continued employment in thisposition will be contingent upon obtaining and/or maintainingrequired agency credentials.
- Experience in Microsoft Office orother similar software applications is required.
- A valid driver's license isrequired.
- Minimum age requirement: Must be atleast 18 years of age.
