The Apparel CADDesigner is responsible for creatively developing print and patterndesigns and creating and leading the development of own brands andtheir packaging for all areas ofMerchandising.

Position follows hybrid schedule:Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote. A portfolio isrequired for this position. Please attach or include a link to yourportfolio on your resume..

WhatYou'll be Doing:

  • Establishcreative and production processes for packaging artworkexecution.
  • Direct creative of all packagingcomponents and manage designers to execute new designs, redesigns,production and standards.
  • Manage the artistictranslation of the company’s brand strategy into own brand packagedesigns.
  • Maintain photo and illustrativeresource base and provides creative photographydirection.
  • Manage team resources (internal andexternal) to effectively executeprocesses.
  • Develop and manage process timelinesand annual budgets.
  • Develop and communicate ownbrand strategies and assure they areupheld.
  • Build functional expertise within theteam to operate cross functionally.
  • Work withProduct Development Team on seasonal calendar in order to managekey creative activities in the line development process to ensuredesign/merchandising requirements are met.
  • Workwith Product Manager to understand seasonal pattern work needs. 
  • Design seasonal print and pattern workfor line development which includes prints, yarn dyes, logos,appliqués, graphics, and embroidery.
  • Format allartwork development for transmission in TechPacks.
  • Work with Product Manager in reviewingall pattern strike-offs and handlooms. 
  • Assist in recommending resolutions toartwork issues. 
  • Update and maintain inhouse print/pattern library.
  • Update andmaintain technology, software and equipmentneeds.
  • Establish and monitor the CAD processand calendar to ensure project deadlines.
  • Workwith design and trend/design merchandiser each season to insurethat artwork is produced for each brand including; prints, plaids,logos, screen prints, designs for woven, embroidery andappliqués.
  • Utilize seasonal color palettes tocreate fashionable colorways and produce rendered flats andillustrations for boards.
  • Attend trendpresentations and knowledgeable about seasonal trends and colorsand their influences on print, pattern and graphics and ensureaccurate interpretation of privatebrand.
  • Utilize print and pattern referencematerials i.e., swatch books, textile books, pantone color books,design libraries and other referencematerials.
  • Update technology and ensure latestsoftware and equipment needs.
  • Sketch newpatterns, specifications and protocol.
  • Scanprints and re-color to seasonal colorspecifications.

WhatYou Bring with You(Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’sdegree or equivalent retail experience.
  • 2-4years experience in Apparel CAD designrequired
  • Expertise in design software includingPhotoshop, Illustrator, U4ia.
  • Knowledge andunderstanding of branding and key marketingprinciples.
  • Strong aptitude for strategicplanning and execution of brand profiles, positioning statementsand objectives.
  • Ability to direct creative andoffer creative solutions to design projects including logo &brand designs, package designs photography and copywriting.
  • Strong management, communicative,organizational and problem solvingskills.
  • Proficient in leading meetings andmaking creative presentations.
  • Technical,creative and business writingability.
  • Knowledge of the retailindustry.
  • Understanding of specificmerchandising lines and core customerbehavior.
  • Office computer skills; ability tolearn company systems and tools, preference for Microsoftapplication experience.
