ASRC Federal Cyber is seeking a High Voltage Electrician at Fort Greely, Alaska. 

Job Duties:

  • Provide maintenance of substations, overhead, underground, power plants and other central electrical systems where high voltage currents exist.
  • Maintain electrical systems with charges above 600 volts.
  • Cleans, adjusts, and/or repairs electrical equipment (e.g. air and oil circuit breakers and remote-control supervisory equipment) to maintain equipment condition
  • Reads electronic schematics to diagnose problems in the electronic control circuitry.
  • Operates a variety of testing, calibration and repair devices, tools and equipment including voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, insulation resistance testers, high potential test sets, circuit breaker testers etc.
  • Utilizes personal protective gear associated with high voltage electrical systems.
  • Adhere to all current CUI GFORCE standards and all electrical safety standards to safely operate and maintain the MDC electrical systems.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant high voltage experience.
  • Certified Electrician
  • Journey level experience in troubleshooting techniques to identify and correct malfunctions in power distribution/complex control systems
  • Must be able to read, research and understand schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Must maintain a valid US driver's license.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing in the English language to effectively conduct business with industry and Government.
  • Handle interactions with the customer and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to balance, bend, kneel, squat, reach, sit, stand, walk, climb, push, pull, lift, grasp, hear, and see.
  • May be subjected to moving mechanical parts, loud noise, high places, hazardous chemicals or materials, repetitive motions, and working outdoors in inclement weather.
