Job Summary:
Industrial Fire ApparatusEngineers/EMTs, under direct supervision, trains for andparticipates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergencyand/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergencyoperations in an industrial facility, responds to fire alarms andother emergency calls to protect life and property; drives,operates and maintains fire apparatus and equipment. Althoughfirefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsibleareas of activity, the major portion of time is spent drilling andstudying methods, techniques, and organization, and in routineduties in the care and maintenance of customer property andequipment.

This is considered a safety sensitiveposition and is subject to both the Company's and the Client'sIndustrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes:pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing,reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-uptesting.

MinimumRequiredQualifications:
  • 18years old.
  • Must be a high school graduate orpossess a GED certificate.
  • Valid Driver'sLicense.
  • Must possess County, State and/orNational EMT-B credentials.
  • Must possess AHACPR/AED credentials.
  • Physical Agility FitnessTest (Initial Hire and Annually).
  • State,IFSAC, or PROBOARD Firefighter 1 certification.
  • State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Driver Operator -Pumper (NFPA 1002)
  • Hazardous MaterialsOperations (state, IFSAC, PROBOARD)


DesiredQualifications:
  • Hazardous Materials Technician (state, IFSAC, or PROBOARD)
  • Confined Space Rescue Technician (state,IFSAC, or PROBOARD)
  • Trench Rescue (NFPA 1006)
  • Swiftwater Rescue (NFPA 1006)
  • State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Firefighter 2
  • NFPA 1081, Industrial Fire Brigade Member
  • State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Driver Operator -Mobile Water Supply


Responsibilities:
  • Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls by drivingassigned automotive equipment or fire apparatus to the requiredlocation.
  • Drives, operates and maintainsvarious types of firefighting and suppression apparatus andequipment, including but not limited to pumping and ladderequipment and ground monitors.
  • Trainingpersonnel in the operation and maintenance of fire apparatus andequipment.
  • Quickly follows establishedCompany procedures when responding to emergencies as well asinstructions given at the emergency scene.
  • Correctly and promptly uses all relevant apparatus, tools, andequipment.
  • Remains calm and poised in allemergency situations and gains rapid control over the problem athand.
  • Administers first aid to injuredparties at their appropriate level of training.
  • Quickly analyzes situations where life safetyis threatened and applies the correct treatment.
  • Safely operates Company vehicles, andequipment as directed.
  • Assists in themaintenance of fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipmentkeeping such apparatus, tools, and equipment in good operating andsafe condition by competently and efficiently performingmaintenance and testing tasks.
  • Keeps thecompany base and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in aclean, orderly and useable condition.
  • Performs routine non-firefighting work tasks, such as working onCompany records, time cards and other related paperwork.
  • Functions satisfactorily as a team member ofa fire company at any emergency or non-emergency scene, andwillingly accepts their share of the work required.
  • Able to meet the physical requirementsrequired to perform firefighting tasks.
  • Remains skilled in and properly applies modern fire suppressiontactics, methods, and procedures at training drills and emergencyIncidents.
  • Projects a positive attitude andimage to the client as a fire service professional to meet theclient's needs.
  • Works effectively infollowing policies and procedures.
